Discovering the desert

AldrichPears Associates worked with an international team to redevelop the Al Ain Zoo into the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort (AWPR) – an internationally respected wildlife park with a unique combination of world-class conservation, education facilities and recreational experiences.

AWPR will focus on engaging local residents, particularly families, in natural immersive surroundings where they discover the desert and the cultural traditions of desert dwelling people.

Guided by AWPR's mandate, APA's design focused on creating immersive, authentic interpretive experiences that foster a sense of pride and interest in learning about the desert.
