Setting the standard

To create an inspiring and practical new vision for an aging Zoo, AldrichPears worked closely with Edmonton Valley Zoo staff to create a phased masterplan that also served as a fundraising document.

Once phase one funding was in place, the Zoo brought us back to design the first area of the new zoo, Pinnipeds. This zone, interpreting fin-footed marine mammals that call the Arctic home, has set the design standard for all further development of the Polar Extremes Precinct. As the first of many exhibits, our goal for the Pinnipeds exhibit was to create a visitor experience that would inspire enthusiasm and excitement for the future phases of build out at the Zoo.
