AldrichPears Associates was instrumental in moving this project forward since its inception, working closely with representatives of the municipal, provincial and federal governments, tour operators, local maritime tradespeople and citizens to establish the vision, develop a creative concept for the institution and prepare a sustainable business case.

The NMC will be different from most cultural facilities because it is built on partnerships. Thanks to education and industry partnerships, it will be integrated with the needs of the maritime and local communities. It will also be financially self-sustaining. Income from office, retail and commercial components support the cultural functions.
