Metaline Waterfront Park

Metaline Waterfront Park is a well-loved community park offering an abundance of outdoor activities along the historic Pend Oreille River. APA worked closely with Seattle City Lights’ Boundary Hydroelectric Projectto design engaging interpretive panels about the area’s history and biodiversity, as well as safety and conservation signage.

Alaska Native Heritage Center

The Alaska Native Heritage Center is a space of healing and reconciliation, welcoming both local Alaskan Natives and those returning to the state after long absences. APA worked with center staff and stakeholders to create a roadmap for new experiences that spark connection and build a sense of belonging.

University of British Columbia Transportation Testbed

At the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus, a new Transportation Testbed is uncovering critical connections between sustainable energy, transportation, and urban design. APA developed outdoor exhibits to make this research accessible to a wide range of visitors, from passersby to industry partners.

Point-aux-vieux Archeology Exhibit

The Acadian Museum of Prince Edward Island wanted to showcase recently unearthed artifacts while showing both the archeological process and what life was like on the Island in the 1700s. APA worked with the Museum to develop a new multi-sensory exhibit with graphics, hands-on activities, interactive videos and displays, and artifacts.

Central Arizona Project Water Education Center

Arizona Science Center hosts exhibits exploring physics, sustainability, digital communications, the human body, the forces of nature, and more. APA worked with the Center’s staff and stakeholders to envision and develop its new centerpiece: The Water Gallery will immerse visitors in Arizona’s unique water story through indoor and outdoor experiences.

Boundary Dam

The Boundary Hydroelectric Project is a remote dam and reservoir that provides electricity to Seattle, and recreational opportunities and facilities for visitors. APA worked closely with Seattle City Light to tell a cohesive indoor and outdoor story that celebrates its feats of engineering, renewable energy production, and natural resources.

Vancouver Maritime Museum Arctic Gallery

The Vancouver Maritime Museum shares maritime stories of the Pacific Northwest and the Arctic. APA worked closely with the museum and Inuit subject matter experts to incorporate Inuit context and celebration of Inuit cultural knowledge to the story of the St Roch’s voyages in the Arctic.

Burrowing Owl Estate Winery

The Burrowing Owl Estate Winery is renowned for both its commitment to crafting exceptional wines and standing as a beacon of environmentally conscious practices. APA collaborated with the winery to create a cohesive story for visitors to explore throughout the Estate that celebrates its wine-making process and sustainability practices.

Tilden Environmental Education Center

The Tilden Environmental Education Center is the interpretive centerpiece of the 740-acre Tilden Nature Area—an ecological preserve in the San Francisco Bay Area. To foster the next generation of environmentalists, APA worked closely with the Center’s staff to envision an engaging and accessible experience for the new center.

Jefferson Museum of Art and History

The Jefferson County Historical Society (JCHS) is rethinking common assumptions of what art and history exhibition spaces at a community museum can be. Instead of a permanent history exhibit, the Jefferson Museum of Art & History will curate integrated art and history exhibits throughout the museum, all focussed on an interpretive topic that changes yearly.  […]
